It's over...Venice Final Released!
:: Sunday, February 29, 2004
Thanks to everyone that played a part in the making of this map, no matter how small.
I had a lot of fun with this project and I sort of hate to see it end. However, for
you competitive players, look out for tc_venice which is coming soon! There are significant
changes for stopwatch play being made to the map. Anyway, enough talk. You probably want a link!
Download it from here or get it from pcgamemods.com.

It's here! Venice Beta 4 Released
:: Monday, January 24, 2004
The wait is over, and I'm proud to release the first public beta of Venice! You
can download it here or get it from pcgamemods.com.
Feel free to swing by my newly opened forums and let me know what you think of the map.
EDIT: RtCWFiles.com is also now hosting Venice. They gave the map a 10/10 in all categories!
Also, enemy-territory is now hosting the map.

New Venice Preview Video
:: Sunday, January 18, 2004
Sonic has put together a preview video of Venice. We are currently playtesting the map privately, and it seems to be alot of fun! The video
follows the map progression of escorting the tank, stealing the relic, and escaping by boat. It's a .mpg file and you can get it
here (16MB).
EDIT: I initially hosted an incorrect zip file. This has been corrected.

Venice Update
:: Monday, December 29, 2003
For all you faithful followers of the map, I just wanted to let you know that
it's getting very close to the release of a public beta. Over the holiday
break, I was able to get all of the scripting working. This was a huge relief
as the interaction between the AT Gun and the tank was causing me no end of grief.
Still left to complete are the sounds and the command map. Sonic (sonicvalley.com) is currently working on some immersive sound effects for the map, and thegnat has graciously offered to do the command map for Venice. For a taste of what thegnat can do, visit here.

Where have I been?
:: Friday, November 21, 2003
So where have I been? Some of you may be wondering this very question. Well, I have
been very busy with real life, but rest assured, I haven't quit this map! In fact,
today's update is to show what I was able to accomplish as far as custom models in
the Venice map. Basically, all that is keeping me from releasing the first beta
is the scripting. So, enjoy these pics of the boat and relic models in action,
and stay tuned for more info once I get my head wrapped around the scripting.

Modeling 101
:: Thursday, October 23, 2003
Well the day has finally arrived! As you may know, the venice map calls for a motor
boat to be escorted. Seeing how there are no good md3 models of boats, I am having to
create my own. I have never even opened a modeling program before, so this was a
big deal. Well, it turned out to be great fun, and after two evenings of work, I have
finished the model itself. The model comes in at around 500 triangles so it's inline
with the Splash Damage tank and truck models.
Now I have to create textures for it (another new task to learn). I modeled it off of the
motor boat from the 3rd Indiana Jones movie (seeing how it was set in Venice as well).
